Real Housewives of Atlanta, househusband, Apollo Nida was charged with bank fraud and aggravated identity fraud yesterday. This breaking news comes directly from the U.S. District Attorney’s complaint filed in Atlanta on Thursday, Jan 23. Apollo surrendered to US Marshalls yesterday and appeared in front of an US magistrate judge at the US District Court in downtown Atlanta.
Apollo is currently on state parole in Georgia stemming from a 2004 racketeering conviction which he served a 5 year prison sentence from 2004 to 2009. His wife, Phaedra Parks, represented him in that case.
Apollo is married to RHOA star and Atlanta super attorney Phaedra Parks. The couple reside in the Buckhead section of Atlanta and portray an affluent lifestyle on the show. They married upon Apollo’s parole from prison back in 2009 and have two sons together.
After appearing in front of U.S. District Judge Gerrilyn G. Brill, Apollo was released on a pretrial bond. This is good news for Apollo considering he is currently on state parole and these charges could get his parole revoked.
Rumors have floated around the Atlanta gossip circles that Apollo never gave up on his life of crime. Allegedly, Nida engaged in bank fraud since his release from prison in 2009.
Many are speculating what extent did Phaedra play in the alleged bank fraud. Mrs. Parks is not immune to “alleged” criminal activity. Angela Stanton wrote a scathing book accusing Phaedra of being the criminal mastermind behind Apollo’s previous racketeering auto ring crimes.
Ladies, you can’t turn a criminal into a house-husband!
Will the US District Court bring charges against Phaedra also? Stay tuned for more developments as the case progresses.
UPDATE – Angela Stanton, author of the scandalous book “Lies of a Real House Wife: Tell The Truth and Shame The Devil“ in which she makes several claims that Phaedra Parks was knowledgeable and took part in the racketeering and insurance fraud with husband, Apollo Nida.
